Passion. Experience. Research.

History

Animal training has been a part of Janelle’s life since the time she was 12 years old. Initially starting with riding, training, and eventually competing with horses in show jumping when she got her first dog with behavioural issues it started her down a path to finding the most reliable and successful methods for dog training that are based in science vs anecdotal evidence.

Skai’s the Limit Training opened in 2016 originally as an “in your own home” training business. Since then it has grown and now runs in various locations indoor, outdoor, and some virtual classes as well. Janelle holds her CTDI Certification and is working on completing her CPDT licensing. She has a passion for working breed dogs and always enjoys finding the best ways to get them to engage with their families.

Whether working with a hunting dog, a lap dog, or an active family pet we will put together a personalized plan and homework sheets to ensure the best chance of success for achieving your goals for your dog.

Trainer-in-training

Maya Yerichuk

Maya grew up in Edmonton teaching her two goofy Portuguese Water Dogs tricks and obedience and has recently completed her CTDI certification course. She met Janelle through her interest in training and behavior and since then they have connected over their passion for science-based training and animal behavior. Maya is currently working towards a degree in Animal Health with a major in Companion and Performance Animals and brings an educated perspective to her training outlook and methods. As she begins to gain more experience teaching clients, you will begin to see Maya take more of a leadership role in some of our classes. Her current interests in training are focused on trick training and puppy raising, and is quickly mastering problem behaviors as well.. We can’t wait to see her skills become more integrated into our classes!!

Partner

Kai

There would be no “Skai’s the Limit” without Kai. Born in 2016, Kai is a standard Australian Shepherd that was adopted by Janelle to be her training partner in crime. Whether he is testing a dog’s social skills, allowing puppies to jump all over him, or competing in the next new sport Janelle has decided to try, you are likely to meet him at some point if you are training. “Superstar” is too much of an understatement to describe him!
